As you can see you can throw in an extra (accidental 😅) turn here and there 🕺💃

Tip for the ladies: if the guy leaves your hand behind your back and it's not clearly leading you or of the hammerlock, Leave your hand behind your back for at least one full basic (123 567) or until it's clear that he asks for that hand again.

1️⃣ Step with right and close your feet in the centre
2️⃣ Step with left to the side, stay under your body so you can transfer your full weight on the left leg, don't make the step too big
3️⃣ Step the right foot in place
Repeat on the other side
5️⃣ Step with left to close your feet in the centre
6️⃣ Step with right to the side (see pointers above, at count 2)
7️⃣ Step the right foot in place

Do you close your feet in the centre when you dance salsa on1?

I prefer to step through the centre, i.e. to not close the feet, essentially creating 4 'tiles' to step on instead of 3.
This second way of dancing on1 is less "staccato" and more fluid, creating more flow in your basic.

When you're used to stepping on 4 tiles, with more flow, it'll help you grasp on2 better. You'll see why in later videos.
